Welcome to to the Jersey Jubilation Handbell Choir (JJHC) home page

The Jersey Jubilation Handbell Choir (JJHC [aka JJHE]) is one of the newer community handbell choirs to be established but has over 20 years of history behind it. The ensemble is a continuation outgrowth of six predecessor choirs and ensembles which have been active in the eastern parts of the United States for over two decades. It is the culmination of a dream that brings together experienced ringers from over a 300 square mile area encompasing much of northern New Jersey, the New York metropolitan area, and northeastern Pennsylvania.

2011 Holiday Concert Schedules Announced

Jersey Jubilation, the premier area community handbell choir, has announced preliminary dates for its 2011 Christmas holiday concert programs. In addition to their annual home concert for the 2011-2012 season, the choir, again, has been invited as the principal music ensemble for Stuyvesant Town in New York City. The Choir will present it's Christmas Bells program celebrating the holidays on the following schedule:

DateLocation
Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 7:30 p.m [approx] Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village, New York City
Stuyvesant Town is a large private residential development on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City. Stuyvesant Town was named after Peter Stuyvesant, the last Director-General of the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, whose farm occupied the site in the seventeenth-century.

This is our 4th Annual invited visit to New York City to share holiday music in partnership with the "Stuy-Town Holiday Open House" for its residents and visitors. The Choir joins with the U.S. Marines in their "Toys for Tots" collection program to make the holidays both meaningful and festive, and with the operations staff or Stuyvesant Town in concert with their annual Holiday Wine, Pastry and Chocolate Open House Tasting parties.

Are you a Ringer looking for a challenging opportunity?

JJHC is still young and is looking for additional ringers to join our ensemble. You do not have to be an 'expert' to join us, but we do have some requirements. Interested candidates should be able to ring in two or more positions (no "bell hogs" here!), be able to read music and be able to ring at Level III or higher. The choir practices in Ridgewood, NJ (approximately 21 miles from NYC). Ridgewood is serviced by NJ Transit trains from Secaucus and Hoboken. If you would be interested in exploring this opportunity, please give us a call (201) 447-2751 or send us an email at 'info@jerseyjubilation.org'.
